Your primary concerns during winter weather are heat, food, and fresh water. During and after a severe winter storm, you may be without power or a heat source for several hours or even days.

- Water: At least one gallon per person, per day for a minimum of 3 days

- Close Off Unneeded and Unused Rooms
- Use Rags or Towels Under doors and in cracks to help hold in heat
- Cover Windows at Night
- Eat and Drink: Food provides the body with heat and energy. Water will prevent dehydration
- Wear Layered Clothing: Layers of loose-fitting, light-weight clothing will provide insulation and help keep body heat in. Remove clothing to prevent overheating and perspiration
