| Severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday of most of Ohio. Extreme NW Ohio will see an increased chance of severe weather. The primary threat from Wednesday’s storms will be damaging winds and heavy rainfall. |
Warm and humid air over Northeast Ohio gives us a chance of thunderstorms popping up at just about any time through Thursday. Severe storm chances increase for Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Tonight will bring another night of warm and muggy conditions over Stark County. Skies will remain partly cloudy through the nighttime hours with lows expected in the 70 degree range over most localities. Forecasters at the National Weather Service are saying that we should remain dry over Northeast Ohio through the night.
However, with the warm, moist, and unstable air mass in place over most of Ohio, popup thunderstorms can be expected at just about any time.
Wednesday will bring more favorable conditions for strong to severe thunderstorm development as a cold front travels across the state. Forecasters at the Storm Prediction Center say that thunderstorms due over Northeast Ohio on Wednesday have the potential for winds in excess of 60 MPH as well as locally heavy rainfall.
The best chances of strong to severe thunderstorms will occur in the afternoon and extend into the nighttime hours Wednesday night.
Highs Wednesday will be in the low 90s.
Any leftover thunderstorm activity should begin to diminish by Thursday allowing for dry conditions Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will also be closer to normal for this time of the year with highs in the low 80s.
Saturday should also remain dry with our next chance at some rain coming Saturday night. It will be a little warmer Saturday with highs in the mid 80s.
