| Storm PRediction Center has most of Ohio including Stark County under a slight risk for severe weather Saturday. High winds and large hail will be the primary threat. |
Warm, muggy conditions will develop over Stark County tonight as a tropical air mass blankets the region. Low pressure will advance north of the area Saturday destabilizing the atmosphere and increasing the threat of thunderstorms.
Warm moist air will advance into Northeast Ohio through the evening hours Friday and continue to entrench the entire region by daybreak Saturday. Tonight’s temperatures will actually INCREASE as the warm front moves through and continues its northward trek.
Scattered thunderstorms can be expected overnight tonight with some storms dumping impressive rainfall. Slow moving storms along the frontal boundary can become efficient ran producers and very heavy rainfall can be expected at times prompting localized flooding issues. Flood advisories may be posted later tonight.
The threat of showers and thunderstorms will ongoing Saturday as low pressure moves north of the region destabilizing the upper atmosphere. This instability may be enhanced if we manage to see some sun during the morning hours. Morning sunshine will cause temperatures to shoot into the mid 80s causing afternoon and evening thunderstorms to become more intense.
Some thunderstorms over the region Saturday could be on the strong to severe side. The Storm Prediction Center has most of Ohio, including Stark County, under a slight risk for severe weather. The main threats from any severe storms that may develop will be from large hail and damaging winds.
